Missing a Montgomery

Today really stinks. For lack of any better or more eloquent words, it just really stinks. My heart felt like a heavy brick in my chest, I lost another loved one to the AIRPORT. Today, the girls and I dropped Joe (aka Daddy) off at the airport. He is heading out to California to work a catering gig in Santa Barbara. He will be away for 9 days. We are alone in PA. It is 17 degrees outside and snow is covering my grass. Just to give you some perspective, I had a double shot from Starbucks yesterday, and I threw my plastic cup in our garbage outside. As I was rolling the bins down to the curb (it's trash day...holla) I caught a sneak peak inside, and yes ladies and gentlemen the ice in my starbucks cup (from yesterday) had not melted. Jeez Joe, you are the only thing I actually like about PA (not all the time, sometimes I am happy about the hoagies too).

I just love my husband. He is my best friend. He is my partner. He is my companion. He cracks me up. He gives me perspective when I need it. He is rational. He is kind. He is hardworking. He is the best dad I have ever met. He is my true love. I just love the guy. I will be lost without him during the next 9 days. This exemplifies just what kind of guy Joe is. I gave him these tiny dessert cups from this Italian brand he loves...and he used them to do root beer shots. The guy is weird, but that's why you love him so much.

I know that God is in this situation, as he is in every situation that we encounter. God will show me during this time of being away from my favorite person in the whole wide world, that he is really all we need. Really, God is all we need, he is our provider, our guide, our love...he is everything. I pray that God will protect Joe, and be with him as he is in Cali. I pray that I am able to sleep, because I usually cannot whenever Joe isn't here. Pray that my girls are ok....just keep us in your prayers.

8 But it was because the LORD loved you and kept the oath he swore to your forefathers that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.
Deuteronomy 7:8-10
