Night & Day

The different temperaments of my children will never cease to amaze me. While one is more reserved & sensitive, one is bold and independent. While one is cuddly and is content to sit on my lap and rub my cheeks, one is fiercely independent and can be off doing her own thing for hours without even acknowledging me. It is hilarious to see the differences and how they are sometimes the very same differences evident in me and Joe. We are truly blessed to have Hazel Rei and Jade Anise. The differences are good, they make them special...they make our family complete!

We love you all, and you are always in our thoughts and prayers. Pray for us, it is COLD today and will be barely in the 30's for much of next week. I feel like I might be starting to get sick, so please pray that I am able to fight it off.  Leave your prayers request for us too!

Work it Hazel.

I honestly could not wait to put up these pictures. I mean seriously, what little girl knows how to strike so many poses without even the slightest prompting. This girl, man oh man what is going on in her head...I will never know. Well, you see I started making this outfit for Hazel a few weeks back and have been too lazy to finish. When she discovered the outfit in the works, she was so happy...that I felt I needed to finish it. She was so in love with the skirt and shirt that I made her that it made me feel so proud, not because it is perfection (because it is not) but because of Hazel absolutely falling in love with it, the hearts (for Valentine’s day she says), her poses (that crack me up)...and just what a total and complete blessing she is to Joe, Jade, and myself. Thank you Lord for Hazel Rei!

Gettysburg

We are a travelling family. If we had unlimited resources and a private jet we would be dragging our poor kids all over the globe.   However our budget is not in line with our wandering spirits so our travels are not terribly extravagant. We recently made a small trip to Gettysburg Pa. I am continually overwhelmed by how much history Pennsylvania has!! We made it to Gettysburg right before sunset and managed to snap some photos of the beautiful countryside and soak in its rich history.

***In keeping with our desire to pray for our friends and loved ones, and vice versa...our prayer requests are as follows:
1. That the girls would stop getting sick. I am hearing coughing, and seeing runny noses and hoping they do not get sick AGAIN. So pray for them.
2. Pray for God's will in getting plugged in somewhere in our church, that God would lead us where he wants us to serve.
3. Haiti! Pray for the orphans, I just read an article that broke my heart.

Saturday morning on Tuesday.

Today we had a nice Saturday morning breakfast, yes on Tuesday. You see as the family of a fabulous chef, our life is anything but conventional. No 9-5, Monday to Friday schedules here. We make our own schedules, our kids go to bed later than most, wake up later than most, and most Saturdays are just like any other day of the week. Not today, no Daddy was home and requested bacon, eggs, home fries, and toast. So that is what we did, and we loved it. Then we spent the day going to the YMCA, the library, grocery shopping...you know things most people do on the weekend. Happy Tuesday to you all!



So while I'm on the subject of our breakfast, it couldn't of been complete without our beloved farm fresh eggs! I have raved, yes RAVED about how much I love our farm! Well yeah sure it's not exactly our farm but we buy our fresh milk, and eggs from the Milky Way Farm. I had a tiny indiscretion when I decided to purchase "natural" eggs from the grocery store...and they were pitiful. So yes, thank you Jesus for farmer Tim and his most fabulous eggs. As if his eggs were not amazing enough, I have just discovered that Farmer Tim has a British accent...so yes I get my eggs & milk fresh from a darling farm and the farmer is British...I die :)

Coffee with friends

I missed my kickboxing class, the one I have been waiting for all week. I thought I would step out of my comfort zone and attend something to "get myself out there" and it backfired on me...it didn't work out. So, I had coffee with my girls, and later after pouting for a few minutes I ended up jogging along an indoor track and spent some time with the Lord.  No loud music, kicking and punching...just Jesus and it was nice. I think God knew I needed some time alone that day, quiet, and just with Him.  I am blessed to have such lovely & sweet coffee companions...yes truly BLESSED!

Pray without Ceasing

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus

We would like to post a weekly blog with prayer requests and encourage our friends and family to comment (even if they are not avid commenters we know they read our blog) to come out of the shadows and post comments. Post comments about what? Well, post comments about what is going on in your life or friend lives that we all should keep in prayer.

Our prayer request is to pray for our friend Joe; he is being deployed to the Middle East. We pray that God would put His hand of protection over him, that he would be a light, and that He would use him mightily. Also, pray for his two children. The children will be in the loving care of Renee (Joe's mom) and Bill so we pray that God would strengthen them, that the children would be at peace and that God would continue to provide his blessings to them as Joe should be gone for at least a year.




Of course please pray for Haiti, please please please! God is bigger than the destruction and is powerful to reach out to those people that are suffering.  My heart is broken for the loss there. Pray for the people of Haiti, God loves them so much. Donate if you can.

Sickies

Both darling girls have been sick, which means that we have been pretty much secluded and homebound for awhile. God is good and both Hazel & Jade have been feeling better, so we have ventured out into the world again. While being mostly home for a week or so, Joe & I switching off to go run errands, we have had nothing really to report. Just having fun with Dad's slower schedule this week, happy to be back at church again! I love this picture of Jade and her slinky on Christmas so I thought I would post it just for the heck of it! More adventures to come, my poor camera has just been sitting in its bag. Much love to everyone.
