Coffee

We spent some family time at a local coffee house. Eating breakfast burritos, and breakfast sandwiches, drinking coffee, reading books, and relaxing together...our most favorite thing to do.

*All photos were taken by the fabulous Joe M...all except one :)

Carrot Fingers

He is always the one to make them laugh. They giggle uncontrollably at the news that he will be home soon! Yes the girls think their Dad is the funniest man on earth. We had visited a local farmers market and bought some locally grown rainbow carrots...and Joe transformed them into carrot fingers! I love Joe, and the girls adore him. He makes life brighter!

the kimbel dr. loop

We live on Kimbel Dr. We have a new habit of walking the .8 mile "kimbel dr. loop". I don't know if others refer to it as that, but I do. Our ideal time to walk is in the morning when the day is crisp, hopeful, and new. We had a beautiful walk, admiring the tall trees naked of leaves, embracing the cool air, listening to the sounds of the wind & birds...it was fabulous. We pointed out the interesting mailboxes we saw, a little mini log cabin, a school bus, and one that had three little robins on it. It was lovely. Oh, fleeting Autumn!

The places you might see.

Reading, Pa. Not exactly a top destination spot. Not really one of the 1oo places to see before you die either. We found ourselves in Reading, 45 minutes away from home after a failed mini-van search. We noticed a pagoda high on a hill and decided to check it out. The resounding feeling was happiness, happiness to be alive, happiness that God created such beauty, and happiness to be in the presence of people that take that unknown road and discover amazing things.

Happy Halloween

First Hazel wanted to be Goldilocks, and Jade to be the little baby bear (typical Hazel assigning what Jade was to be) then it was a fairy, and finally after she spent over an hour glued to the laptop watching the nutcracker, it was a ballerina. So the final costumes for the girls ended up being just that, with colorful wings thrown in just for the heck of it. I kid you not ladies and gentlemen that pose Hazel is throwing down was not suggest by either Joe or I, that is all Hazel.

Apple Cider

We spent yesterday on a local farm, picking apples, playing in hay mazes, on mini tractors, and drinking apple cider. The initial object of our outing was to procure apple cider. You see there are two thing that Joe loves more than anything 1)apple cider and 2) eggnog. We notice a farm that makes apple cider right on site out of their own apples. We checked it out, and had a beautiful day, and YES the cider was delish. It is safe to say that we are thoroughly enjoying Autumn amongst the leaves, apples, and soaking in all the beautiful colors. We are making amazing memories and enjoying "country" life!!!!

Fruit Pickin'

Another fun Summer activity was fruit & vegetable picking at Linvilla during their Peach festival. We picked fresh peaches right off the tree, sampling their sweet awesomeness. We also picked grapes, corn, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, etc. We had an amazing time!
