Going out for breakfast is my absolute favorite. EVER. Especially the unexpected kind. When you get a call...asking you...if you want to go to breakfast! So you just thrown on something and head out for yummmmieeeness. Such was the case last week....

Fireside Breakfast

They love their little red table. I use it mostly for breakfast or lunch, and then we eat dinner at the main table. They also like to color and create beautiful masterpieces on their little red table. Sometimes I overhear them saying things like, "So, how was your day?" to each other...at breakfast!

Yesterday was a very cold morning. It had snowed and freezing rain was falling as the girls woke up and wanted breakfast. I had started a fire and Hazel requested that they eat fireside. They bundled themselves up in blankies and I made them some warm vanilla milk (milk, vanilla, a little sugar) and they enjoyed a warm cozy breakfast together. It was a beautiful morning with my beautiful little ladies. I am treasuring these moments with just them!

There are many reason why I am so thankful to God. Many indeed. His love is amazing. The most pressing upon my heart at this exact moment is thankfulness for my family .

Backyard Fun.

Our Backyard!!!!!

We are renters, so usually our backyard consists of a tiny balcony or a small pad of grass. Not this time!!! God has completely blown our expectations by bringing us the most perfect rental house, with a magical backyard. Magical? You might ask. It is a backyard where at night, in the dark of night, thousands of fireflies dance around and illuminate....it is as if you can see thousands of beautiful blinks of light. I was speechless the first time I saw it for myself. It is a backyard where you can hear birds, it is as if you are in the rainforest at times, you can just sit out back and hear so many birds chirping, it is delightful. It is a place where even if it is 100 degrees in the house and you feel like you cannot go on, you can go outside and find refuge and peace under the shade of our tree. It is the spot of many beautiful warm dinners, where we can chat and laugh and thank God for all of our blessings. Yes it is indeed a magical backyard.

My mom is great. She sends us packages that are so thoughtful, and sweet. Each item is put into that package with love and it shows!! She sent Hazel a super cool book awhile back. I had been keeping it hidden because it was so cool, and I didn't want scribbles to destroy it. It isn't like a normal coloring book, it is a well thought out coloring book. I really love it.  It's pages go through the seasons, and it seems to actually encourage kids to use their imagination. It is what Hazel does each day while Jade is napping. She loves it so much! I snapped some photos, because that is what I do, and I thought I would share.

This one is my favorite, it says, "This girl's best friend has moved away. Draw her some friends"

As you can see, our refrigerator cannot handle any more art. Hazel is super stoked each time she draws something, that she puts it on the fridge!

The Golden Poof

Hazel has beautiful hair, but she needs "product" in order for it to not be crazy. So, today was one of those days where there was a golden poof ball of hair upon my dear sweet Hazel's head!  Being completely out of her normal detangler spray, Hazel's hair was at it most ginormous today.  I think she likes her hair big and unruley...it kind of matches her boisterous personality. So if you think you had an interesting hair day today, just think of little miss Hazel Rei!

The Perfect Spot

Everyone needs a cozy little nook somewhere in their house where they can curl up with a good book.  For Hazel, this would be inside a storage box, that she lined with a blanket. She was in that box for awhile while as she read her book.

My mom is very thoughtful. Very talented. Very sweet!  I just love her to pieces. She is always sending the girls & I little packages with the beautiful things she makes.  Hazel has fallen in love with ther little winter cap. I believe abuelita made it last year, but she noticed it the other day and it is now her go to hat each time we leave the house.  I think her most favorite thing about the cap is the flower!

Mommy, I love my hat too! I have worn it everyday since I received it!

Night & Day

The different temperaments of my children will never cease to amaze me. While one is more reserved & sensitive, one is bold and independent. While one is cuddly and is content to sit on my lap and rub my cheeks, one is fiercely independent and can be off doing her own thing for hours without even acknowledging me. It is hilarious to see the differences and how they are sometimes the very same differences evident in me and Joe. We are truly blessed to have Hazel Rei and Jade Anise. The differences are good, they make them special...they make our family complete!

We love you all, and you are always in our thoughts and prayers. Pray for us, it is COLD today and will be barely in the 30's for much of next week. I feel like I might be starting to get sick, so please pray that I am able to fight it off.  Leave your prayers request for us too!

Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
