Fruit Pickin'

Another fun Summer activity was fruit & vegetable picking at Linvilla during their Peach festival. We picked fresh peaches right off the tree, sampling their sweet awesomeness. We also picked grapes, corn, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, etc. We had an amazing time!

Doctors & Dentists....

The girls had their share of checkups this summer. Jade had her year & a half checkup. She is still a little petite peanut but managed to bump up to the 5th-10th percentile for her weight, and is now 21lbs. She was not happy at first, and did not want to cooperate...

She was happier when she got a hold of a good book...

The pediatrician gave her a couple of cups to play with....funny....

Hazel had her very first dentist appointment. While she was apprehensive at first, she was intrigued with all the equipment and calmed down. Her dental hygienist was amazing and really explained everything to her, and was so patient and kind....

She got to wear some really cool shades during her dental exam...

Everything went really well....

And the girls got to pick a few prizes from this box....

Thank you Lord, our girls are healthy!

Love,

4th of July

4th of July? Huh? It's September for goodness sake! But oh yes, I have been a bad momma blogger. Really bad! I shall recap our summer beginning with 4th of July. We spent a lovely weekend in the paradise of upstate New York. We roasted marshmallows, in which I indulged a bit too much, set off fireworks, rode quads, got really really muddy...and spent precious time with those we love.

Happy September, stay tuned for more summer 2009 Montgomery pictures. Love to all!

Our annual trip to the beach...

Sad but true, we visited the beach once last year! Correction, we visited the "shore" once last year. You see rather than the 4 mile drive to the beautiful southern California pristine beach known as Salt Creek Beach in beautiful Dana Point CA, if we wish to see a large body of water and dip ourselves into it, we must drive over an hour. Since we had less than 12 hours with the hubs, aka Dad, aka Joe, aka the maniac working guy, we decided to drive up to the shore. Like any other good Philadelphian would do to escape the humid summer heat.

We rented a surrey (which is like a bike, with four wheels, an umbrella over your head, and in our case it had four seats)...we drove up and down the boardwalk, the girls made sand castles, we ate ice cream on the beach, Joe slept, and we all had a really relaxing day. Ok so here comes Debbie Downer ok....the smell is interesting at the shore and the sand seems to be made of cement because it sticks violently to your skin as if it is permanently adhered...and like crazy sticky...I think humidity has something to do with it. Irregardless I loved it, it was wonderful to lay on the sand (even if it is evil sand) gazing at the water as if watching all your cares drift away. So in summation, I think, Pacific or Atlantic, humidity or no humidity, I'd take a beach day...any day! I think it was just what we needed...a nice relaxing day at the beach (errrr...shore...I will never get used to that).

This trip was actually taken in June, forgive me I am very behind in my blogging. You see there is only ONE set of hands on deck here at home lately so I have been busy with my two children, mounds and mounds and mounds of laundry, dishes and dishes and dishes (hello paper plates...sorry Earth) and just trying to stay sane. I will be attempting to blog about some little things we Montgomerys have done so keep checking our blog. Your prayers are appreciated.

Much love,

California Cherries

The note attached said, "you can forget the leeks and onions, but not the cherries!"....my amazing sister Ginger had sent us an extra special package (we love packages) and had lifted our spirits once again. Note: Hazel & I ate all the cherries, not sharing with Jade & Joe...you snooze, you lose.

Thank you sister....

Jade's reaction to cows.....

During our recent adventure (see blog below) we drove through Pa countryside, and discovered that Jade really loves cows....
